Make sure you stick around to the end of the video to see one of Medellín's most famous barrios - Comuna 13 - which used to be the most dangerous neighborhood in all of Colombia. You don't want to miss it!

I have been on a nomad living in colombia binge on youtube, and this video just helped even more. I visited for the first time in November last year, and now I'm planning to move there in April to stay for a few months. Thank you for sharing!
Love this!! I just got back!! It's crazy my husband is from Colombia and I have been many times but my family is too afraid to go because they think it's dangerous. They have no idea how amazing and beautiful this country is! Just no dar papaya and esta todo bien!
love your video! I been to Medellin 3 times and totally agree, the perception of Colombia from the years of war has given the outside world hesitation on visiting, but as long as you aren't flashing your expensive electronics or pesos and watching your surroundings as in any big city, I felt very safe in Medellin (compared to Bogota lol) . Beautiful country and the people are so friendly
I could not agree more! I'm so glad you've had such a great experience there like I did.
When I go back in May it'll be my third time in Medellin. I am hooked. I will retire there. I have already started making plans. My retirement may be 13 years down the road, but yes. That's the place for me....
i love Colombia so much i moved here, I hope you get to explore the real Colombia outside of the bubble of Poblado and Communa 13
Oh for sure!! I just posted a video from Guatapé and next week I'm posting one from Jericó! I also visited Jardín and absolutely loved it
@@CrosbyGraceTravels yay!!
@Sean Hardman that is cool have you visited!?
@Sean Hardman that is amazing! You might move i love it here:)
Same here. It’s great.
I lived in Costa Rica for 18 years and have considered Colombia from time to time. You definitely have me curious about checking out Medellin!
Do it!! I have a couple more videos coming out from the surrounding towns that you’ll love
Before, Costa Rica was from Colombia together with Panama.
Ecuador and Venezuela
but the Costa Rican accent is the most similar to the Colombian for being once from the same country That is why the culture of Costa Rica is very similar to that of Colombia.
love Medellin! I was there in 2022 also; a friend of mine from the US owns a second home there, and I loved exploring that vibrant city!!
I am moving there in 2 months. Good vibes. Thanks for the info.
Yeah. Happy to see you back on You Tube.
So happy to be back!
Grace this city is special for you, I’m looking you are very happy, that’s good welcome to Medallo city, chaooooooo, love uuuuuu
Hi, so glad you guys enjoyed my beautiful city of Medellin, Colombia 🇨🇴
You guys need more time to explore the country and the beautiful beaches ⛱
Also colombia owns close to 70 islands 🏝 in the Atlantic and pacific Oceans, hope you can visit soon, greetings from USA 🇺🇸
Awesome vid! I'm flying over on Saturday so it came at the right time. 😀
Enjoy!!!
Thank you so much for a wonderful video. I am currently working remotely in Mexico but my lease is almost up so I am looking into either staying in Mexico or going to Medellín next. I am looking into staying in Poblado. I am so glad I crossed your video!!!!
Great video! Welcome to Medellín!
Great video! I'm a full-time digital nomad and content creator currently in Brazil for 6 months. I'm heading to Cartagena in June and will probably go to Medellin right after that in July. I'm looking forward to exploring and enjoying Columbia!
Medellin is now a trend. hope to be there one day. OFW Nomad in the house!
I liking this video, I’m from Medellin, I live in NewYork, but like you talking about my , welcome, we spect, when you come back. God Bless
Thinking about moving to Medellin for a year and taking it easy and learning Spanish! I have money coming in so think I will be fine financially. Love your video!
Saludos desde medellin
thank you for making this video
QUEEN!! “We are too cool for tours I guess” 🤣🤣🤣
I mean duh 😎
In some places it’s better to explore by yourself, but in Comuna 13 getting a tour is a must, the whole story of that area is a difficult but amazing one, it would’ve given you a whole new perspective; shame you missed it but may be you can check some other videos or read about it it get a glimpse, I highly recommend it. Enjoy the city! 👍🏼😁
Thanks for sharing this video🙏🏽 greetings from Indonesia 🇮🇩👍🏼
Básics safety tips: dont use jewelry or neckchains, dont use watches.
Be discret using cellphone or cameras at no safe Colombian zones.
Then enjoy
Would you recommend keeping phones in a zipped front pocket and just using it as a necessity?
@@bassioelmucho Yes
I love Medellin!
You have explored my city more than i have
Was just there over the holidays. Loved it so much that i'm headed back there to Medellin next week. Flight ✈️
Love it!! Enjoy!
Crosby Grace big ups to you 👍🏻. Nice informative vlog. Tigo is the mobile service provider to go with. Barrio Manila has a nice community of Digital Nomads. It's near Lleras Park in El Poblado. Check out Openspace which charges about $4 bucks for the day pass so you can do your remote work. It's in Barrio Manila. Good advice about staying safe.
Thanks so much for the insight! I never made it to Manila but heard good things from other nomads
@@CrosbyGraceTravels My pleasure 🙏🏻🕉️😎😃👍🏻.
A fanny pack is super touristy. The only time I used this was as a kid at Disney world which I think further makes this point.
Maybe you could wear two shorts and keep your phone in the inner one.
Amazing video!! How did you get connected to the other digital nomads there?
I wish I could visit Colombia one day, that's my husband's homeland but I still feel a little not comfortable cuz the neg information I heard around here n there. Thanks for making this video so I could find sth nice there
Just stay home in the USA and watch the horrendous, senseless shootings every day
If your husband is Colombian, he is probably street smart and knows how to stay safe.
I was impressed by Medellin, Columbia and am flying back in a few days. Any short-term rentals and language school to learn Spanish you recommend?
Welcome to my country beautiful. Have fun, take care of yourself. I love you 😘
Thank you!!
You do look, like a beautiful paisa.
Can people call your old phone number when you put in a new sim card? I'm just wondering what will happen if clients call it. Also, love your videos :)
I’m in love with Medellín. I’m staying out here for the next 6 months. How long are staying here?
So fun!! I already left unfortunately but I do want to return and explore more of the country!
👍👍👍
I'll be in Medellin on Friday starting my adventure through South America. My channel will be focusing more on hard journalism when it starts, but how safe is it to really carry cameras around like that? I keep seeing videos of other travelers getting mugged. I, also, don't speak any Spanish so I feel a bit screwed compared to other travels haha
If you are afraid, please don't go. By the way, I've have not seen anyone being magged ever and I am around foreigners.. my family is international, they all love Colombia. Guess what, they do not want to go back to the USA!, Germany or France. Hard to believe? No
Hard journalism?? I imagine you are looking to shock the world and trash Colombia. Well, the USA is a good country to start.
@@mariabaier3080 I’ve already been to Colombia as the comment is five months old. It was fine. And why are you on here trashing what I want to do without knowing me lmao. Get a life.
@@michaelsantiago2087 "there are other traveleres getting mugged" Keep your cámara at home.
You're so pretty and charming. Good job 👍🏾
Hi thinking of going to medillin for my birthday in august? Did you feel safe traveling solo as female?
Can you please tell me some co working places and how much they coast. How can I find them?
COLOMBIA ES PRECIOSO ESTAN VERDE☘️🌿☘️🌳🍀🌱 TIENE BONITOS LUGSRES .. POR QUE TE VENISTE A MEXICO🤔❓️
what do you do for work?
👍👌👍
Anyone else notice the pronounciation of Medllin changed about 2 minutes in?
Come to my city: Manizales. I own a coffee farm down here
Other You Tubers have had significant problems there and crime is said to be significant. Interesting you have a different opinion.
I have AT&T does my phone need to be unlocked to get data and sim card ?
I have Verizon so I didn't have to, but I believe AT&T does have to have their phones unlocked
A Colombian from Cali , I would like to visit Medellín someday. It seems safer than Baltimore, Chicago or St Louis! Take care and ta-ta for now!
@Sean Hardman The cartels and mafia are around the world not only in Colombia!
@Sean Hardman There are Italian Mafia, Russian Mafia, Canadian mafia, japanese mafia and the list goes on...I know Colombia is quite dangerous but Hollywood movies always portraits Colombia as a war zone ....
Vivo en Chicago y buscaba las cifras de crimen de ambas ciudades y Chicago tiene MUCHO más crimen que Medellín
What is your opinion on an average cost of living for a single male? nice but not fancy accommodations etc? In the 1500 range or more realistic 2000? I'd be open to staying in non tourist areas as well
That is per month btw
$1500-2000 is definitely a realistic budget depending on how much you eat out/ where you stay/ how much you travel around. If you stay in el Poblado, it'll be higher than if you stay in Laureles.
@@CrosbyGraceTravels Great Channel! Oh, Laureles all the way!!
💯🇨🇴🇮🇱🇨🇴💯
Fanny pack hack in Italy; Motorcycle pulls up, cuts off the fanny pack, bye bye.
I am in my 50's. Have visited Colombia many times, different cities. LEARN THE LANGUAGE is # 1. Enjoy, the people are excellent.
Can you buy a sim card at the airport?
Not usually, but there are tons of places around town where you can - just look for the Tigo signs outside stores
Barrios is the general Spanish word for neighbourhoods, not just those on the hills.
Yes. Didn’t mean to imply that they were only on hills 😂
@@CrosbyGraceTravels very nice vid, btw!
I gotta ask, how old are you?? I feel like I'm to old to be a digital nomad :/
You’re not!! I’m 24, but I’ve met SO many nomads of all ages. It’s possible for anyone
Any kind of work which requires a high level of concentration and precision cannot be done from a laptop in a cafe. Anything less than a quiet undisturbed place with a 27" monitor, would be like career suicide for me. The idea of moving often for extended periods of time, a year or more is a lot of work in and of itself, involving a lot of research, preparation and also risk of things ending up not being adequate as described online (airbnb deceptions for example). Once you've been around, for most people it would probably come down to selecting the best place for them, 1 or maybe 2 places, but the idea of going around continually is simply unsustainable, although a great adventure that is worth sharing and living for some.
Hi baby very beautiful city john from Massachusetts..nice video.
You cute ❤
google fi phone service just work EVERYWHERE,
sorry but carrying around your passport and credit cards its really dump, you should always leave that at the hostel along with some extra cash or a debit card, if you get your entire bad stolen you are fucked!
Correct. Italy is dangerous. Do not carry all your credit cards and never the passport. Nowhere in the world
Did you have any safety or crime issues while there? Anti-gringo crime is spiking apparently. Including two deaths.
I didn’t myself, but I did know one person who got robbed in her uber so I avoided Uber’s after that and stuck to DiDi
Are you taking about the guys who overdosed with drugs and were found alone in hotel rooms. Yeah, people get killed every day in Washington DC. So many guns in USA. Dangerous country
Too dangerous in Colombia for visitors , my friend just get rob and killed by a Colombia girl drugged him up just for $500 ...
She seems nice and has good general travel advice but people need to be more aware of real life colombia and do not listen to RUclipsrs. It’s a big problem here right now, currently being addressed with migración.
Haven’t gotten robbed and drugged yet!!
You are censoring my comments and I am taking screenshots as prove of your censoring-ship 🤳🏻
Saludos quieres venir a marinilla Antioquia te recibo
the guys who think Colombian women are over sexualized , lol.
